I'm in a lab that is setting up ARTIQ for the first time. We got our core pre-flashed from M-labs. I had to flash a different IP address to the core, but apart from that, things have gone smoothly so far.
Despite the core being pingable, most commands from the NUC that I’ve tried (except artiq_coremgmt –version, and flashing the IP) hang in the terminal. Upon inspecting the UART startup log, it seems the crate gets stuck. The last line in the startup log reads ‘no connection, starting idle kernel’. This was happening before I flashed the IP address over too and I’m assuming was the reason commands were hanging then.
Separately(?), the NUC cannot access the internet despite having an IP address that falls within the internet-accessible range. I’m unsure whether these things are connected, but I am suspicious since both might be network-ish issues, and thought it might be useful information.
Both the NUC and the core are connected to the same switch (the same switch providing internet to the lab computer), which is connected to our firewall, which is connected to the university network.
